An Eastern Bluebird's nest is very simple. It is made of grass, and is formed in a cup shape. The nest takes an Eastern Bluebird pair between 2 days and 2 weeks to build. Due to lack of habitat (lost to housing developments, resturants, strip malls, etc.) there aren't nearly as many natural homes for Eastern Bluebirds as there use to be. That is why I would like to encourage anyone who has the interest to put up bluebird boxes. There are many designs to choose from (Peterson, Olson, Bauldry, Lake, PVC, Flip Flop, NABS, Slot, etc.) For more information on bluebird houses e-mail me, or click one of the links below.
